On March 3, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) validated the environmental review for the PolyMet project. See the news release.

The State’s decision confirmed that the project can be built and operated to meet rigorous state and federal regulations, clearing the path for state permitting required for construction.

This is an encouraging time for Minnesota, the Iron Range and all PolyMet supporters.

What’s next?

PolyMet is now focused on the permitting required to build the project, which will generate good, well-paid, local jobs – all while protecting the environment.

Upon receipt of those permits, completion of the Land Exchange and securing construction finance the project can move forward into construction.

Our supporters have been incredibly patient! We appreciate the local communities, political representatives, business and labor communities, and PolyMet shareholders who have stood by us.

The Iron Range has a proud history in mining – and now, looking forward, PolyMet is excited to be part of its next chapter.
